Having trouble installing? Make sure you read the instructions fully.
- Classic template installing help: click here - please note that this is how to install CLASSIC templates (classic templates come as a .txt file and you have to copy and paste the data into your "dashboard" area).
- XML (widget friendly) template installing help: click here - if installing an XML (or "new" template) please click there. Most of my newest templates are an .xml file (that has to be "uploaded") while the old ones are "classic"/html templates. Not sure which kind of template it is? Check the instructions on the post from which you downloaded the template!
"Will you design a custom blog for me?"
At this stage I have no time to do custom work but you can buy cheap, one-off blogger templates at www.acornglue.com. Hooray.
"I take great offense at your URL and you should be ashamed of yourself! Are you?"
No. Not at all. There's more to life than getting your knickers in a knot over a simple double entendre. I think it's cute and funny.
"I use a Mac and I'm having trouble with your "classic" or "old" Blogger templates!"
Mac's word pad thing is weird so if you try and open a "classic" template it will load the images within the word-pad application and you won't be able to copy & paste properly. I have a Mac too (so we're both cool) but to get just the plain text drag and drop the .txt file into Safari or Firefox and it will load just the text. Copy and paste this into the "template" section of your dashboard and viola!
"I don't know anything about the internet. What computer settings should I have ?"
I don't (like or) use Internet Explorer anymore, I use Firefox. A person shouldn't automatically assume that the internet browser that came with their computer is the best one for them. I like Firefox and I've been using it (and claiming it's worth) for many years. I also have a Mac, but there's nothing wrong with a PC.
Whatever browser you chose to use, you should always make sure that you have the most recent version - this will ensure your security and you'll be able to see websites the way they were meant to be seen. Older browsers often don't show websites properly.
I use: Photoshop CS (to edit images), Dreamweaver (to make websites), a macbook and Firefox. I like kittens, candy, retro anything and books about space. I also like toast, boys and photos of cakes.
