And by the way (XML).... - free blogger design
Friday, 14 December 2007
Yes! I do listen! :)A lot of people said they'd like to see this design for new blogger, so here you are!
I've kept the width and it's true to the original (850px) and I think you'll agree that it looks awesome as a "new blogger" template!
- No, your own blog title is not going to be visible as I've removed it to make way for the Sylvia Plath quote. Sorry, that's the way I've made it. You're more than welcome to edit the image in photoshop/graphics editor though and erase what's there and put yr own thing in.
- BACK UP your widget data!! Installing a new template one may erase the data you have there! (just in case you didn't know that).
- If you're installing this over a "classic" or html blogger design then you may have to chose a generic blogger design before uploading this one.
Cheers!
xx Sharnee

Can I ask the dumbest question ever? What about this would be different from the old version? I'm using the old version now and I think it's so pretty so I'm just wondering what the advantage of "upgrading" would be.

Haha, not a dumb question at all. I guess the XML template is much easy to alter as it requires no knowledge of html code or anything - just a click-to-edit kinda thing. A lot of people prefer it I guess.... I'm just trying to keep up with demand.
The html templates look pretty different on different browsers but I'm quite impressed that the XML templates look very similar over all browsers :-) - At 15 December 2007 11:45, Catherine said...

Thanks.
I love your designs. I've been recommending them to people who ooh and ahh over the one I'm using. - At 16 December 2007 23:52, said...

I'm trying to install this template but am getting this error message: Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The document type declaration for root element type "html" must end with '>'.
Any help for that? I hope so, I love the design! - At 11 January 2008 10:22, Jenn said...

Hi mrs.idle, thanks for leaving a comment. I'm not sure exactly what is going on there but I think you should wipe your current template by selecting another "generic" blogger one and then try uploading the Sylvia Plath one (it's an XML template, so I hope you're not copying and pasting the code - you just have to upload the xml file from within the "template" section of your dashboard). The template definitely works, I've seen others using it.
