Having trouble installing? Make sure you read the instructions fully (hey, you'd be surprised that most people miss a step!):
"I'm getting the same error message over and over! "Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed etc etc "
Well, my first guess would be that you have missed a step whilst installing the template. I CHECK EVERY SINGLE TEMPLATE before uploading it on my site -- so I know they all work! If you have problems, still, I would advise you to choose a generic blogger template before trying to upload the suckmylolly.com design. If none of this helps - I would advise you to search the help forums here: Google Blogger Help Forum - search first as someone else has probably experience the same thing.
"I'm having troubles with your "old html" templates - I want to add something to the sidebar and it's not working the way I want it to! HELP! "
Sorry, but I have moved away from "html" templates and on to XML templates - so I am no longer able to offer any help with these. You are, of course, welcome to do whatever you wish to these templates, but I cannot help.
"I'm using a Mac and I'm having trouble opening/copying the .txt documents for your "classic" blogger templates!"
Congratulations on having a great computer (same as me, copycat!) but Mac's wordpad thing is weird - the best way to view these .txt documents is to drag and drop them into Firefox or Safari. and copy the plain text code from there.
"Can i trust you? I've heard that people should not download things from sites they don't trust "
There is nothing malicious hidden in my blog nor my files. I *only* make revenue from the ads on my site (not much) and that's just to pay the web hosting bills. I am not interesting in abusing trust - I will never use your email for spam purposes.
"Will you design a custom blogger template for me?"
I'm afraid at this time I have no time to do custom templates. You can buy one-of-a-kind templates from acornglue.com! Hooray!
If you email me asking for a custom template please don't be offended if you don't hear back from me.
"I take great offense at your URL and you should be ashamed of yourself! Are you?"
Not at all! You! Unknot your knickers now! There's more to life than double entendres - and I'm sick of how conservative people are becoming. It's so boring!
"What's all the fuss about xml templates? what's wrong with "classic" blogger?"
xml templates are easier to modify from within your Blogger dashboard (you can drag and drop content) - especially good for those of you who know nothing about writing HTML or CSS.
If you have your own URL AND hosting then you (unfortunately) have no choice but to use "classic" templates. The new blogger (xml) templates can be used if you have your own URL though - the easiest way to do this is to buy a custom domain for $10 from within the "Publishing" area of your Blogger dashboard. Everything will be set up automatically, and hey... it's only $10 a year.
Classic templates tend to always get a low-punch in the guts, but they're really not that bad. suckmylolly.com is a "classic" blogger template, as it would happen, and it's doing very well for itself. Of course if you're going to use a "classic" template then you'll probably need to know some HTML/CSS to make things work right.
"I don't know anything about the internet! What browser/settings should I have?"
I use Firefox and I will never ever go back to IE. IE7 is extremely similar to Firefox though *cough*, so I guess I will forgive you if you want to use Internet Explorer - just make sure you have the latest version of whatever browser you chose! Not only will it be the most secure, but websites will be optimized and look the best. Want to see how varied versions of IE can be? Visit this site, which renders websites in Germany and sends you a screen grab. Woah, the difference even between IE6 and IE7 is pretty phenomenal.
In conclusion: Firefox 2.0+ and IE7, ph-lease!
"What sites do you recommend?"
These are the sites I could not live without (not ads, just great links):
* photobucket.com - free image hosting
* dafont.com - awesome free fonts to download. For PC and Macs! Hooray!
* squidfingers.com - free patterns for your website. I love his URL - our sites should have babies I think!
* Kaliber1000 - also some free pixel backgrounds - very nice
* statcounter.com - free counter for your blog. I like this more than any other free counter (yes, even google's)
* IE Net Render - for testing pages on different versions of IE (eeew, IE is so icky)
"i have more questions!!!"
I am not able to offer any help with technical issues any more due to the volume of emails I receive - please take a look at the Google Blogger Help Forums.
Hope you enjoy my templates!
